Introducing OSM Solar Panels

Green Home TV is expanding the role of solar to include a 10 KW MicroFIT system. We’ll be working with a number of product and installation partners to make the installation happen and will be tracking the project at our new Green Home Power Generation Site.

One of our key partners is OSM Solar. OSM is a manufacture of solar panels, one of the most important parts of our system, based in Welland Ontario. They are making a name for themselves by introducing a panel to the marketplace that has a 10 year history of development and solar production. They are also introducing a new microinverter to the market can be used to convert the panel’s DC current to AC suitable for system of 1 to 1000 panels.

We recently caught up with John Gable and Al Wiley of OSM to discuss OSM panels and their role in the MicroFIT and FIT programs.

Community Power 2011 and the FIT Review

Green Home TV took in OSEA's Community Power 2011 conference. This years conference focused on the OPA's review of the FIT program as well as looking at other industry developments and ways to grow community involvement in power projects. We interviewed Kris Stevens, Executive Director of OSEA, who hosted the conference and gave us his sense of the conference's direction

The Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) is an organization supporting sustainable energy initiatives at a community and individual level. OSEA was born out of the need for communities to have a greater voice in industry and political conversation surrounding sustainable energy.

Isn't paint just .. paint? After a conversation with Christy Bremer, out Interior Designer, we realized quickly that there is lots to consider when it comes to your paint choices.

Beyond simply looking at oil vs latex, there is the amount of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), the durability of the product, and other technical aspects. For designers, there is a question of sheen and, most importantly, the palette and range of colours.

Before starting to paint in the Home Addition Project, we met with Steve Miller of ColorTown, a local reseller of C2 Paint, who gave us the 101 on choosing your paint and colours.
