Attics in the average home are a huge source of heat loss. Hot air rises and will eventually hit the your attic Whether it is held in there or pass right through will depend on how you’ve insulated your attic and by how much.
The Home Addition Project is exactly that .. an addition to an existing home .. in this case a home originally built in the 1840s. The original part of this house was renovated in 1965 with insulation placed in its attic at that time. This project presented the perfect opportunity to revisit the old attic and see if it was up to new standards.
Capstone Insulation visited the project, evaluated the existing insulation and increased it’s value ensuring that this old attic will not be a weak link in the whole home’s overall building envelope.
